For this assignment, I have to specify finishes to a newly built out Medical office suite. For this assignment, along with flooring materials, I will specify materials to be used in the construction and finish of cabinetry and the associated work surfaces. Wall and flooring finishes must be considered for a cohesive and conceptual story but for this assignment, I will only be required to specify and document Flooring, Cabinetry and work surface materials. I will create Finish schedules for each category and provide specifications for each material or surface treatment that you have specified. I will be including details, tile layout patterns, transition details, etc.

In addition, I will be required to download and present manufacturers specification sheets as described in class Lecture and create a Project Specification Binder as discussed in class. A Specification binder or notebook is a deliverable on this project-refer to in class description The final design solution will be creative, highly decorative and utilize your abilities in taste level, style, materiality and material appropriateness for use. Special requirements of a medical suite must be considered, such as sterile and non-permeable surfaces and seamless installation, which will be discussed in class. Again, this project must show a clear design direction/ concept. Choices must reflect a style direction and any historical or contemporary references.
